Ingredients (Serves 4)
Main
2 tbsp olive oil
500 g minced meat (beef, lamb, or a mix)
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
Vegetables
1 small head cabbage, chopped
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, grated (optional)
Flavor Base
2 tbsp tomato paste
½ cup crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp cumin (optional)
1 tsp dried oregano or thyme
Instructions
1. Brown the Meat
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add minced meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
Break it apart as it cooks. Remove excess fat if needed.
2. Add Aromatics
Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
3. Build Flavor
Mix in tomato paste and cook for 1–2 minutes to deepen flavor.
Add crushed tomatoes, paprika, cumin (if using), and herbs. Stir well.
